Mosquito Control

Stay on the cutting-edge of natural mosquito control with the In2Care® mosquito trap.

In2Care® Mosquito Station

The In2Care® Mosquito Station targets two life-stages of the mosquito, the adults as they lay their eggs and the larvae at the moment they pupate.

Adult mosquitoes are lured to the station and while depositing eggs in the water, they touch the floater gauze and become contaminated with a slow-killing biological fungus and a larvicide. The fungus infection takes a few days to kill the mosquito, stop virus replication and will reduce the mosquito’s capacity to feed.

In the meantime, the infected mosquito will also spread larvicide while laying more eggs at other breeding sites around the station. Aedes mosquitoes are skip-ovipositors (laying their eggs in multiple sites) and will carry the larvicide on their legs and kill larvae in each water body they visit.

Effective Mosquito Control

Station Attraction

The black color, design, water and our special organic odor lure will attract egg-laying females. The Station is designed to be attractive to Aedes mosquitoes in particular, who like laying eggs inside artificial containers. Other mosquito species, such as Culex mosquitoes can also be attracted to lay eggs inside the trap.

The biological fungus in the trap will kill the adult mosquito in a couple of days. The infection takes time because the fungus spores need to penetrate the mosquito skin and grow into her body. In that timeframe she will contaminate other breeding sites in the proximity of the station, and die afterwards.

Station Deployment

Our team will evaluate your property for the optimal trap placement based on proximity to mosquito breeding sites like gutters, pool equipment, play sets, koi ponds, fountains or anything else that has standing water. Each trap will cover approximately 4,300 SF basically a 75’-diameter circle around each trap.

Each trap is filled with water and a biocide-treated gauze strip activated. The gauze is then fitted on the floater component with the remaining powder and odor tablets added to the water. As a final step, the lid is locked in place.  Initial control takes about 2 weeks to ramp up.

Station Servicing

Our team will visit the traps approximately every 4 weeks April through September to ensure optimal performance. Once a team member arrives, they will inspect each trap, remove the old strip of gauze, record larvae activity, adjust water levels, install a new biocide-treated gauze to the floater ring, add the odor tablets and lock the lid.  At the end of the season, a team member will remove all traps from your property.

An Environmentally Friendly Solution

Insecticide resistance has a become major problem in countries infested by Aedes mosquitoes.  Area-wide insecticide fogging is still being use but showing limited efficacy and major impacts on non-target organisms.  The in2care® mosquito trap is the first trap that uses a biological control agent to kill mosquitoes.  It deploys a US-EPA approved fungus that kills the mosquito several days after infection and can prevent disease transmission. The trap larvicide is US-EPA approved and WHO-recommended for mosquito control and use in drinking water.  Both bioactives have short half-lives and pose very low risks for non-target organisms. In this way, our traps offer an effective, sustainable, environmentally friendly mosquito control option without drastic use of chemicals in the entire environment.
